Family, motherhood and maternity sessions

These sessions are less about perfect photos and more about preserving a feeling. The way your child reaches for you. The rhythm of being together. The small, in-between moments that are easy to forget but mean everything later.

My approach is calm, present, and intuitive. I’ll offer gentle guidance when needed, but much of the time is about creating space for you to simply be together. The goal is not to pose, but to capture something real.

I’m especially drawn to photographing families in their homes. There’s an intimacy to being in your own space, and something meaningful about documenting life as it naturally unfolds. That said, I’m always happy to work in a location that feels right for you. Los Angeles and Santa Barbara offer beautiful outdoor settings as well.

Sessions typically last 1–2 hours, though I keep things flexible depending on how the time unfolds. You’ll receive 100+ carefully edited images, blending gently guided portraits with candid, unscripted moments. I photograph primarily digital, with some film woven in.

Note that there is no travel fee for family sessions booked in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles.

Home oR outdoor session

These sessions are about capturing your family as you actually are, in the places that feel most like you. At home, that might mean slow mornings, kids moving freely, and moments unfolding without pressure. Outdoors, it’s about light, movement, and space to explore together.

The goal is not perfection, but presence. I’ll gently guide when needed, but much of the time is simply about letting things happen.

  • I’m calm, intentional, and easy to be around. With young kids especially, I like to start slow and give everyone space to settle into my presence. There’s no rush. I guide gently where a person or family should stand or be together and then pay attention to what’s naturally unfolding. The goal is for the whole experience to feel relaxed and unhurried, so real moments can come through. By the end, people often forget they’re being photographed at all.

  • Most people feel this way, even I do. You’re not expected to know what to do, that’s my role. I’ll gently guide you when needed, but more than anything, I’ll create space for you to just be with the people you love.

    You don’t have to perform or ‘get it right.’ Some of the most meaningful images come from the in-between moments, when you’re relaxed, connected, and being yourselves. Of course we’ll get a few pictures where everyone’s looking and smiling, but the real magic tends to happen when you forget the camera is there.

    My job is to make this feel easy, and to create images that feel natural, honest, and truly like you.
